UofL breaks ground on second building

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The University of Louisville Foundation broke ground on a second office building on the Shelby Campus.

The 125,000 square foot, four-story building will be located at Hurstbourne Parkway and Porter Place, just north of Shelbyville Road, is a joint venture between the UofL Foundation and NTS Development Company.

The first building in the ShelbyHurst Office and Research Park, located at 500 North Hurstboune Parkway, opened in 2012.

UofL President Dr. James Ramsey said the new building will help the university's revenue, "Developing this underutilized property will bring new revenue to the foundation and university – revenue we desperately need for scholarships, research and infrastructure improvements to become a premier metropolitan research university."

According to UofL, when the ShelbyHurst Office and Research Park is fully developed, it is expected to have more than 1.5 million square feet of space in multiple buildings.
