Murder case hits 4 year mark with no arrest in sight

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - After four years, a bizarre murder case that involved two women off the National Turnpike is still unsolved.

The bodies of 83-year-old Allie Sylvia Habich and her daughter 53-year-old Rita Carrico were discovered in a quiet, rural home by Habich's son.

Friends and family were shocked by the news and said the two women were nothing but sweet to everyone as well as wonderful caregivers to their children and grandchildren.

"Nothing's going to change to bring them back," said Kathleen Foreman, the victim's daughter and granddaughter, "but we struggle severely with the fact that there's someone that's still roaming out there that has done this to our family and there's no consequences and no answers."

Police said they have no new leads and the case is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call 574-LMPD.
