LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A reward is being offered after a dog was discovered neglected and abused in the Parkland neighborhood.

According to Louisville Metro Animal Services, they were called to a home in the 2600 block of West Kentucky Street on Tuesday where they found a pit bull, named Frodo, tied to a fence with duct tape covering his muzzle.

LMAS said Frodo was also malnourished and suffered additional injuries.

Due to the extent of Frodo's injuries LMAS requested the assistance of The Arrow Fund. Frodo required extensive surgery on his mouth and jaw may also have to have his rear leg amputated. He remains hospitalized in the Louisville area.

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. If you have any information, you are asked to call LMAS at (502) 363-6609.
