Identity released of man fatally shot by police

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Officials have released the identity of the man who was fatally shot by state police during a raid in Orange, Wednesday.

According to officials Corey Navarette, 23, was shot after approaching state police with a firearm as they attempted to serve a search warrant at his apartment.

Police say Navarette was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
