LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man accused of attempting to rob multiple victims at a bank in Jeffersontown was taken into custody.

According to detectives with the Jeffersontown Police Department, Jeremy Knighton, 35, was arrested after an investigation into three recent incidents at the PNC Bank located at 9510 Taylorsville Road.

Police said Knighton would partially cover his face when he robbed, or attempted to rob, multiple victims.

The initial incident happened on June 21 at 10:45 p.m. when police said the victim stopped in the ATM drive thru and was approached by Knighton who robbed the victim while he pressed an unknown object against their neck.

On June 26 at 7 p.m. police said he confronted a second victim who pulled up to the ATM, but he was unsuccessful in robbing the victim.

Police said the most recent incident was on July 7 at 11 p.m. when Knighton approached the passenger side of vehicle and pointed a weapon at the victim when he attempted to rob them.

The surveillance photos taken at the bank showed Knighton has a tattoo on his left calf which police said helped to positively identify him.

When he was interviewed by investigators, police said he gave a full confession to the three incidents. Investigators also said they found clothing Knighton was wearing in surveillance photos and they determined the weapon he used to threaten victims was a toy gun.

Knighton was arrested at 4:40 p.m. on July 8. He is charged with robbery, wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
