LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Shakespeare in the Park has canceled the rest of its performances of Twelfth Night

Producing Artistic Director Brantley Dunaway said one of the company's performers had a personal issue and had to leave the show. Because it is a free event, Dunaway said there is no understudy.

Shakespeare in the Park's website indicates the show was scheduled to run through Sunday, July 14 in Louisville's Central Park.

Dunaway said performances of Taming of the Shrew, scheduled for July 18 through July 21, are still set along with Summer Monday Movie Night showings of The Princess Bride and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Earlier this year, the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival nearly had to cancel the 2013 season because of fundraising shortfalls until two major philanthropists stepped in at the last minute to keep the festival afloat.
