LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man is behind bars accused of forcing his way into a woman's home, assaulting her and sexually abusing her before sitting in her bedroom doorway for hours to prevent her from leaving.

Derlquan Price, 33, was arrested on several charges Tuesday in relation to the incident. The victim reported the situation to police on July 4.

According to the report, Price forced his way into his victim's residence when she was coming home. As she opened her door, he came up behind her and pushed her up a set of stairs. Once he was inside, police said the victim began to struggle. The man dragged her into her kitchen and cut her hair with meat scissors.

The victim claimed Price punched and slapped her before sexually abusing her in her bedroom. She also said he choked her several times eventually causing her to lose consciousness.

After the incident, the victim said Price sat in a chair in her bedroom doorway for hours, refusing to let her leave. According to the report, he fled from her house when she finally opened a window and began screaming for help.

Officers said the victim was bruised on her forehead, chin, arm and chest, had cuts on her wrist and an injury over her left eye.

Price is charged with unlawful imprisonment, wanton endangerment, assault and sexual abuse.
