New Albany City Controller dies

NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) – The city controller for New Albany has died after a sudden illness. Mary Ann Prestigiacomo was 47.

According to a release from Mayor Jeff Gahan's office, Prestigiacomo died Sunday, July 7 after suffering a heart attack.

Prestigiacomo was appointed city controller by Gahan after he took office in January 2012. Before that, she was a practicing attorney for 18 years.

Prestigiacomo is survived by her husband and two teenage sons.

Visitation is being held today, July 10, at from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St. in New Albany. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow.
