(Louisville, Ky.) University of Louisville head coach, Rick Pitino is a two time national champion coach, author, and hip hop fan?
About a year ago, the now 60 year old coach jokingly told the media that he is a fan of Miami based hip hop artist, Pitbull. The media members in attendance laughed it off, and didn't take it seriously. Since then, stories of Pitino listening to the artist on his way to practice and during personal workouts floated around, but still weren't taken very seriously. In a press conference on Tuesday, Pitino confirmed that he truly is a Pitbull fan.
During Tuesday's press conference to announce that Northwestern Mutual had bought the floor that Pitino's Cardinals won the school's third national championship, the coach said that he and his family have been celebrating since winning the title back in April. During that celebration, Pitino found himself backstage at a Pitbull concert. "I went to backstage with Pitbull for 40 minutes with my son, and that was a lot of laughs, and a lot of fun. The whole concert was great. We had a blast. So, we're doing a lot of exciting things as a family....together"' said Pitino.
No word if Pitino and Pitbull plan on meeting again, but Mr.502 (Pitino) is a definite fan of Mr. 305 (Pitbull).
