(Louisville, Ky.) IU Southeast head coach, and member of the University of Louisville's 1980 national championship team, Wiley Brown is making basketball fun for area youth.
Brown is holding his annual basketball camp at the Jewish Community Center to teach children, who are just starting out, the fundamentals of the sport he loves. It's not all basketball at this camp though. There's plenty of fun and laughs. "He can't do everything he used to be able to do. It's really fun," joked eight year old camper, Emily McElhone. Brown admits he's having a blast with the kids when asked who's having more fun, him or the campers. "I think I am. I'm a big ol' kid myself", said Brown.
On Thursday, Brown had a special guest for the campers. His former teammate, and 11 year NBA Veteran, Darrell Griffith. "we're brothers for life. That whole squad, 1980 squad, we achieved something special and we always try to support each other," commented Griffith. "It's fun that I can have Darrell Griffith come speak at my camp," said Brown.
