LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The Salvation Army has a lot going on this summer and many opportunities for people to volunteer.
On Fridays and Saturdays during the month of July they are looking for volunteers to man the kettles and ring bells at the Jefferson Mall for their Christmas in July month. On Fridays volunteers at the food court from 4-8pm and Saturdays from 2-6pm.
The Salvation Army is offering an Introduction to Emergency Disaster Services class on Saturday, July 20th. The free 4 hour class is designed to prepare you to assist in providing food and hydration to victims and first responders when disaster hits.
At least 10 volunteers are needed for Saturday, August 3rd to help with painting and landscaping at the Portland area and South Louisville Corps Community Centers.
To close out the month, you are invited to join the Salvation Army at the Village Anchor restaurant for dinner on Sunday, July 28th. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army. Call the Village Anchor to reserve your table at (502) 708-1850 and tell them you're there to support.
