LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A man who walked into a K-Mart store in Fairdale covered in blood and holding a gun Friday afternoon shot himself outside the store and later died, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Detectives launched a death investigation after the incident, which was reported at 4:26 p.m. at the K-Mart at 191 Outer Loop at New Cut Road. Investigators quickly determined the man committed suicide.
A woman who said her boyfriend was inside the store at the time told WAVE 3 News the store was locked down for a time after the man entered the building. Eventually, police cleared everyone to leave.
