Ground broken for new Army Aviation Facility

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) – The Kentucky National Guard broke ground on a new $25 million Army Aviation Facility in Frankfort on Friday.

The new hangers and office space will replace the older facility built in 1958.

The new complex will more than 92,000 square feet and will provide protection for the guards Blackhawk and helicopter fleet.

The complex will also accommodate maintenance and training space for crews.
