LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Back to school is just around the corner and JCPS is making some changes to school registration.

‘App Mobile' is reaching out to families throughout the community to ensure students are properly registered for the 2013-2014 academic year. Beginning Monday, July 15, the JCPS Mobile Student Registration Site, or ‘App Mobile,' will begin serving current and future students.

JCPS already offers online registration and is building on its success with the mobile version. The vehicle will have laptops, wireless internet access and wireless printers to provide all of the services needed by parents. Staff will also be on hand to guide parents through the process and answer questions.

To register, parents will only need proof of residence in Jefferson County in the form of a water or gas/electric bill, a paycheck or paycheck stub or an award letter from a government assistance program that displays the parent's name and address.

Parents need to register and apply if they have a child who will be entering kindergarten in August or if their child did not attend a JCPS school last year. Parents who cannot make it to the ‘App Mobile,' or need more information are encouraged to visit www.jcpsky.net.

JCPS will also be tweeting out locations  and times every day on Twitter @jcpsky.

A schedule of dates and locations can be found by clicking this link.
