 LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A retired Marine bomb sniffing dog was laid to rest Sunday.

 Beyco, who passed away last month from cancer, was honored by members of the Kentucky Patriot Guard Riders, veterans and active military members.

The military canine warrior retired from the United States Marine Corps after 10 years of service and two tours in Iraq. Beyco's last mission was attending slain Bardstown Officer Jason Ellis' funeral.

People packed the VFW Post in Middletown to pay their respects.

Over a thousand flags also lined the Old Historic Main Street in Middletown in honor of Beyco.
