LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two University of Louisville Men's Basketball players have spent the summer playing for our country, now they'll get to join their teammates in meeting the man who call the shots.
The 2013 National Champions White House visit is set.
Final Four Most Outstanding Player Luke Hancock, who was the flag bearer for the United States at the World University Games, will join his teammates in Washington DC on Tuesday July 24 for a meeting with President Barack Obama.
Rick Pitino talked about the visit Monday afternoon with Terry Meiners on 84 WHAS and said, "It's a lifetime experience to meet the President and to go into the White House and meet members of Congress and it's an educational experience as well as a great honor to meet the President and First Lady, and it's very much an educational trip and a once in a lifetime experience for the players, so I'm very excited about it."
Gorgui Dieng is also expected to join his UofL teammates for the event.
Dieng signed a contract with Minnesota where he will be making a guaranteed $2.7 million over the next two years.
