According to court records, Bledsoe was the suspected getaway driver in the Nov. 28, 2009 shooting death of Joseph McNealy on S. 19th St.
Charges were dropped against Bledsoe when co-defendant Marcus Crook took a plea agreement following a hung jury on a manslaughter charge.
A metro police spokesman declined to comment if that case could be related to the shooting death of Bledsoe but told WAVE 3 that homicide detectives are familiar with the history and it will be looked into.
Bledsoe has a lengthy criminal history consisting otherwise of drug-related and trespassing charges. He was due in court later this month on charges of probation violation.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Police have not made any arrests nor released any suspect information. They are trying to get tips from neighbors who saw or heard anything.
Anyone with information concerning the shooting is asked to call the anonymous tip line at (502) 574-LMPD.
