LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police have made an arrest in the city's most-recent homicide.
A Louisville Metro Police spokesperson made the announcement Thursday morning, saying 26-year-old Angelo Cross was arrested around 7:30 Wednesday night. Cross is charged with murder and tampering with evidence in the shooting death of 24-year-old Steve Bledsoe.
The victim was found dead near a car, shot numerous times Monday night on Greenwood Ave., in the Parkland neighborhood.
Cross is jailed in Metro Corrections, and police say he admitted to the shooting.
Bledsoe, the victim, had a long criminal history. Last year, charges were dropped against him in the 2009 death of Joseph McNealy.
A manslaughter trial ended in a hung jury, and a co-defendant took a plea agreement.
Previously, police had said Bledsoe was the getaway driver in the case.
Grand jury indictments released on Wednesday included several against Bledsoe involving wanton endangerment against an officer and fleeing police.
