LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A mother was charged after police said she put her child in danger.
According to an arrest report filed by Louisville Metro police, on Thursday Danielle Wood and her 7-year-old child were passengers in a vehicle being driven by a man wanted on several felony drug trafficking warrants.
When officers pulled over the vehicle the driver attempted to run away and later made statements to EMS saying he had used heroin and other narcotics while driving.
When police searched the vehicle they found narcotics and drug paraphernalia. They also found a bag that contained several prescription pill bottles.
Officers said Wood was visibly intoxicated and made no attempt to get her child out of the vehicle.
Wood was charged with possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a minor and prescription controlled substance not in proper container.
