LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A meeting was held Thursday night to discuss designs to improve a stretch of road in Louisville.

Designers met with the public about six months ago to talk about the stretch of 4th Street that goes from Churchill Downs to Industry Road.

The designers got a lot of feedback from the public on how to improve the area from upgrading sidewalks, introducing bike lanes and even adding green spaces.

Gresham-Smith Architects, Metro Council Members David James and Marianne Butler and the designers discussed ideas at the meeting.

James said he would like to see more businesses come into that section of 4th Street because the neighborhood needs and deserves the improvement.

Currently, designers are planning to head back to the drawing board to add to the plans.
