One suspect arrested in St. Matthews shooting

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – One man has been arrested in the mugging and shooting of a woman in St. Matthews.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. on Friday, July 19 behind Saints Pizza and Pub in St. Matthews. According to a police report, two women were in the parking lot behind Saints when a couple of men approached them demanding their possessions. One of the women was pistol whipped and shot in the arm while the men struggled to steal her purse.

On July 20, police arrested Anthony McKinley, 22, on two counts of complicity to robbery. Officers said McKinley was an accomplice to the man who wielded the gun.

The suspect was arrested after being identified in a photograph. Police also have footage of McKinley on surveillance cameras attempting to use stolen debit cards from the victim.
