LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - When it rains as hard as it did on Monday, it doesn't take long for that water to flood area streets. The high water can put you and your vehicle at risk. One Louisville driver found that out the hard way.

The driver of a Mini Cooper got stuck on East Washington near Frankfort Avenue. This area is known for flooding. The water wasn't very high and the driver told WAVE 3 News that he thought he could make it through.

He had just bought the car on Sunday. Luckily, he was not hurt, but did get some water in his car.

Louisville Fire and Rescue drained the street and put up caution tape around the area so other drivers would not drive through.
