CARROLL COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – Operator error was the cause of a head start bus crash that resulted in the death of two toddlers, according to Kentucky State Police.
Trooper Brad Arterburn, public affairs officer for the KSP Campbellsburg post, said an investigation confirmed driver Laura Reed overcorrected, lost control and slammed on the brakes causing the bus to go off the road and hit a tree off of Boone Road on October 29, 2012.
Nine children were on board the bus at the time of the crash. Caroline Tuttle, 3, and Ryder Deitz, 3, died at the scene.
