LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Crews are working to renovate a one-mile stretch of Grinstead Drive to reduce the number of crashes.

Grinstead will be reduced from four travel lanes to two thru lanes, a continuous middle turning lane and one parking lane to create what the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is calling a "crash diet." New signage, traffic signals and drainage are also part of the project.

Between Friday night and Monday morning, Grindstead Drive will be closed between Cherokee Parkway and Cherokee Road to everyone except people who live and work in the area. Everyone else will use detours. Click here for detour information.
