LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A grandmother was found murdered inside of her Pleasure Ridge Park home on Thursday, according to Louisville Metro police.
According to police, the woman's body was discovered inside her home in the Greenwood Place apartment complex, located in the 5200 block of Sedge Court.
Relatives on the scene of the homicide told WAVE 3 News Reporter Connie Leonard the victim's granddaughter had been trying to get in touch with the victim all day and she decided to call police for help around 4 p.m.
The victim's relatives said she was well loved and did not have any enemies.
LMPD Spokesperson Alicia Smiley said as far as the woman's death potentially being the result of a break-in, "Anything is possible, but of course well have to look at all avenues. Whether there was forced entry, that's something we will be looking at, whether or not someone saw something suspicious or heard anything inside her apartment, all those are things we'll be looking at."
Police are not releasing the cause of the woman's death, only that they do not believe she had been dead long and that her body showed signs of trauma.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the LMPD anonymous tip line at (502) 574-LMPD.
