LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Louisville Bats will be playing without peanuts Friday night and are asking all fans attending the game to do the same.
The 3rd annual Peanut Allergy Awareness Night, to benefit families and children with peanut allergies, will take place at Friday, July 26's game between the Bats and the Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders.
Gates open at 6:00 p.m. for the 7:05 game. No peanuts or any peanut-related product will be available that evening so anyone with peanut allergies will be as safe as possible.
A May survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that nearly 1 in 20 children have a food allergy.
