JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - A Jeffersonville candy maker will be "dancing" its way into an international candy making competition in Sweden.

Schimpff's Confectionary is known for its Swedish style peppermint sticks called Polkagrisar which roughly translates to "dancing pigs." The city of Granna, in south-central Sweden, is famous for this oddly named sweet.

Jill and Warren Schimpff will represent the United States against twenty other competitors to see who can make the most perfect dancing pig.

On day one of the competition, the twenty participants will be narrowed down to five. On day two, the five finalists will battle for the championship.

Polkagrisar is made from sugar, peppermint flavor and a little bit of vinegar to give the candy its consistency. They taste a lot like candy canes but with a little more of a chalky texture.
