LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Downtown Louisville has grown a little more compassionate with the addition of a new mural.

Leaders from Partnership for a Compassionate Louisville and Unity Louisville Ministry unveiled the news mural Sunday on Brook Street.

The mural features artwork based on the original work of artist Luckett Davidson which portrays empowering messages aimed at creating a more respectful city.

Congressman John Yarmuth and Mayor Greg Fisher were both at the dedication.

Volunteers came together to paint the mural in June.
