LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Commonwealth of Kentucky is getting a grant worth more than $1 million to help unemployed Kentuckians get back to work.
Gov. Steve Beshear said the $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor will be used by Kentucky Career Centers to help residents find work.
"These grants will help individuals facing unemployment get back to work quicker by giving them individualized services," said Beshear in a statement released by his office. "Studies have found that when efforts are increased to assist claimants in finding employment through individual services, they have shorter claim durations and fewer erroneous payments are made."
The grant will also make sure those receiving unemployment benefits are in compliance with state law.
