LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - It appears a trip to the pawn shop blew the cover of a theft from a downtown construction site.

Police arrested two men Monday morning, accused of taking $2,000 for a pair of items from inside a fence in the 200 block of E. Chestnut Street and then walking them to a pawn shop on East Broadway to sell them.

According to an arrest report, the suspect told a clerk at the shop that a leaf blower and a concrete-cutting saw belonged to them. The clerk said he bought the leaf blower for $60 but did not buy the saw.

The two men were found with the saw and $60, according to the arresting officer.

Tony Wilson, 36, and Edward Gusler Jr., 49, are charged with theft by unlawful taking.
