LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A driver, clocked by radar going 100 miles-per-hour on Interstate 64 in Louisville early Monday morning, told police a flat tire was the reason he was speeding, according to an arrest report.

Detrick Williams, 30, was arrested and charged with speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit and reckless driving, both misdemeanors.

Investigators said an officer using a stationary radar clocked a 2006 Chevrolet Impala going 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-64 and stopped the car near the 3rd Street - River Road exit.

Williams told the officer he was driving fast because one of his tires was flat.
