LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - The family and friends of a Lexington teen who is accused of shooting his younger brother to death have started a petition to set him free.
18-year-old Eric Trigg was arrested Sunday night and charged with reckless homicide after the shooting death of 16-year-old Ezavion-Lindsey Trigg.
The "Help Eric Trigg Junior reach his goals on the court, not in the court" petition already has over 2-thousand signatures from all over the country.
"He's serving his time the rest of his life that he's living with his brother in his mind. That's the worst punishment you could have in your life," said family member George Biggerstaff.
According to Biggerstaff, the goal is not to get Trigg off scott-free, but to make sure he can still lead as normal of a life as possible.
Biggerstaff said he plans to hand-deliver the petition to the county attorney.
