Group Purchasing Windows Defined, Junior and Military Ticket Policies Announced
Louisville, KY –The PGA of America has released ticket prices and sale procedures for the 2014 PGA Championship, to be held at Valhalla Golf Club, Aug. 4-10, 2014. Fans will be able to see the strongest field in golf for as little as $25, with tickets only available for purchase to those who have completed an online registration at www.2014PGA.com before Aug. 12.
Tickets will officially go on sale Monday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. EST, beginning with the first purchasing group, Group A, which will have an exclusive window of 72 hours to purchase tickets for the 2014 PGA Championship. After 72 hours, the Group A window will close, and Group B's exclusive purchasing window will open. This procedure will continue until all groups have had their chance to buy tickets or until all tickets are sold out. Individuals may only complete one transaction during their purchasing window, and ticket quantities will be limited to 10 tickets per category. A calendar of each group's scheduled purchasing window can be viewed by going to http://tinyurl.com/PGA-Ticket-Calendar.
"This unique process allows the PGA Championship to fairly distribute our most sought after tickets in a controlled fashion," said Championship Director Brett Sterba. "We are able to reward individuals who registered early with the first access to tickets, while limiting the customer to only one transaction and a maximum of 10 tickets per category. This new format provides those in the later groups a greater chance to purchase the tickets of their choice."
Ticket prices start at $25 for a Monday Grounds Ticket and go up to $475 for a 7-day Wanamaker Club ticket, which includes access to a 40,000-square-foot, air-conditioned, sports bar-themed venue. This will be the first time that daily tickets have been offered to a PGA Championship contested at Valhalla Golf Club. Each of the two previous PGA Championships (1996 and 2000) at Valhalla Golf Club were sellouts.
"The PGA of America is excited to bring the PGA Championship to Valhalla Golf Club for the third time. The greater Louisville community has shown its commitment and passion in supporting some of the most elite events in golf," said Ted Bishop, president of The PGA of America. "This new ticket pricing and sale procedure allows for fair and balanced access to all golf enthusiasts, as Louisville once again plays host to the Season's Final Major."
