LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man was arrested and charged with murder after asking for help to move the victim's body.

At 7:30 a.m. on August 3, police were investigating a death at 1782 Dixdale Avenue near the intersection of Dixie Highway and the Algonquin Parkway when witnesses told them Joseph Duncan, 54, asked for help with moving a woman with visible injuries and blood on her body.

Duncan admitted he moved the woman, who police identified as an acquaintance of his in her 50s, in a friend's car to his apartment almost four miles away at 633 W Jefferson Street. Police reported he did not seek medical treatment for the woman and was the last person to see her alive before someone found her deceased in his bed. When police questioned Duncan, he had the victim's cell phone on his person.

Blood was found in the car that was used to move the victim. The medical examiner found injuries caused by blunt force trauma and strangulation on her body.

On August 4 around 10 p.m., her death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner and Duncan was charged with murder.
