AHWATUKEE, AZ (CBS5) -

A high school teacher at Horizon Community Learning Center is accused of having sex with one of his 15-year-old students, Phoenix police said.

Early this month, officers learned of the allegation against David Depuydt and he was booked on Aug. 6 with six counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

On Aug. 12, a grand jury indicted Depuydt on 13 counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Police detectives said they discovered through their investigation that the relationship between Depuydt and the victim had been going on for about seven months, said Phoenix police Officer James Holmes.

According to the indictment from the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, Depuydt and the teen had sex multiple times, including in the classroom and school bathroom.

Depuydt is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 21.
