CORYDON, IN (WAVE) - Two teenagers accused of robbing and murdering a Harrison County couple entered not guilty pleas during their first appearance in court in this case on Wednesday.

Kevin Schuler and Austin Scott, both 18, face six charges each: two counts of murder and one count each of felony murder, robbery, burglary and theft.

They are accused in the murders of Asenath Arnold, 57, and Gary Henderson, 70, during an August 3 home invasion. Prosecutors said Scott stabbed Henderson and that Schuler beat Arnold with a wooden stick. The murdered couple ran a business that provided pony rides.

Detectives said they have recovered the suspected murder weapons and several items stolen from the victims, including guns, credit cards and prescription drugs hidden in cornfields, creeks and a wooded area.

Schuler and Scott had been held without bail in Floyd County until they were transferred to Harrison County for their arraignment on Wednesday. They were arrested Saturday in New Albany and booked on unrelated charges. Both teens could face the death penalty if they are convicted of the murders.

Bond for Scott is set at $500,000 court cash. Schuler's bond is set at $50,000 full cash. A preliminary joint trial date of November 19, 2013 was set for the teens.
