LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Shively woman is accused of entering a neighbor's home without permission early Tuesday morning and being so intoxicated, she was unable to care for her children.

Police said they found Chastity M. Payton, 23, sitting inside a home in the 1800 block of Farnsley Road that she had been told not to enter because of problems officers said they encountered with her previously at the same address.

While walking with Payton outside, police said she became loud, used profanity, was unsteady on her feet, could not follow commands, and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Investigators said one of Payton's children repeatedly left their home and asked neighbors to feed her because she hadn't eaten all day. The child was also bare-footed and talked about her mother's drug use, according to the arrest report.

Payton is charged with 3rd degree criminal trespassing, alcohol intoxication in a public place and endangering the welfare of a minor.
