Police: Man rams vehicle ex was driving during fight over car

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A disagreement over a car led to a violent confrontation in Louisville on Monday, according to Louisville Metro Police.

The arrest report states that while trying to retrieve a car he owns that his ex-girlfriend refused to return to him, Rami Matrude, 24, rammed the car the woman was driving while behind the wheel of another vehicle. Then, police said, Matrude broke out the driver's window of the car the woman was driving in an attempt to grab the car keys.

The arresting officer said Matrude showed "extreme indifference to (the woman's) life (and) safety and that of her passenger."

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday at 20th and Portland.

Matrude is charged with two counts of 1st degree wanton endangerment and 4th degree assault.
