LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The second pilot killed when UPS flight 1354 crashed in Birmingham, Alabama has been identified by a relative.

According to a relative of Cerea Beal Junior, Beal was the second pilot killed in the crash Wednesday morning.

Pilot Shanda Fanning, who was also killed in the crash, was the wife of Brett Fanning, 37, whose family operates the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Tennessee.

Moore County, Tennessee Sheriff Mike Logan said he knew Fanning well, "I guess what I will remember about her most of all is, straightforward. You didn't have to worry about what Shanda thought; she would tell you what she thought. And I always admired that about her. You never thought about where she stood, because you always knew."

Fanning is described as loving, genuine, bold and extremely smart.

She learned to fly when she was a teenager at the Shelbyville Tennessee Airport, then went on to study aerospace at Middle Tennessee State University.
