Wreckage of the aircraft on fire on the morning of August 14.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - National Transportation Safety Board personnel arrived in Louisville Friday morning to review UPS maintenance records.
NTSB investigators will be meeting with UPS representatives during their visit as they examine documents and data from the cargo plane that crashed Wednesday in Birmingham, Alabama.
There will not be any news briefings or press briefings from the team in Louisville. However, NTSB officials are scheduling daily briefings in Alabama as new information is released.
WAVE 3 News crews spent Friday at the UPS Training Center and noticed several shuttle vans from area hotels drop off visitors. UPS spokesperson Mike Mangeot would not confirm if NTSB investigators were meeting at that location.
Currently, there is no initial evidence of a pre-crash fire or engine failure when UPS flight 1354, an Airbus A300 cargo plane, attempted to land in Birmingham around 6 a.m. August 14.
The plane slammed into a hillside just short of the runway killing the flight crew - Captain Cerea Beal, 58, and 37-year-old First Officer Shanda Fanning.
