Board discusses charges after firefighters accuse supervisor of sexual harassment, abuse

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A harassment investigation involving a deputy chief was the topic of a meeting in Camp Taylor on Tuesday.

Camp Taylor Firefighters George Givens Junior and Michael Killebrew filed a filed a civil complaint against the Camp Taylor Fire District and Deputy Chief Steve Adkins.

In the civil complaint, Givens and Killebrew accused Adkins of striking them in the groin area, physically threatened them about pursuing a position on the Board of Trustees and several allegations of physical harassment.

Killebrew also accused Adkins of slapping, grabbing and squeezing him which resulted in bruising.

Tuesday the Fire Protection Board met behind closed doors and then said they are considering the evidence they have been presented and a decision on charges is expected as soon as next week.

Adkins will remain on paid administrative leave until a decision is made.
