Police accused Elizabeth Stakelbeck, 34, of negotiating payment for the "hit man" to kill her ex-husband and his current wife.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman is accused of contracting a hit man to kill her ex-husband and his current wife.
According to an arrest record, Elizabeth Stakelbeck, 34, met with who she believed to be a hit man but who was really an undercover FBI agent.
Police accused Stakelbeck of negotiating payment for the "hit man" to kill her ex-husband and his current wife. Officers said the payment decided upon was prescription narcotics, which Stakelbeck gave the officer in their original containers with her name and address printed on the bottles.
The arresting deputy suggested her bond be set at a high amount "due to [the] nature of the attempted crime [and] due to the suspect's statements of harming herself and taking her own child's life rather than letting [her] ex-husband get custody."
Stakelbeck is charged with two counts of murder and one count of trafficking in a controlled substance.
