- Volunteers are continuing to work to repair the home of a wounded warrior.
John Gatz's home was full of volunteers on Friday and Saturday as VFW, UPS pilots and between 20
to 25 St. Xavier High School students came to donate their time.
When Sgt. Gatz returned
from Afghanistan after suffering a traumatic brain injury he discovered his
family's home of 12 years was filled with poisonous mold.

In July the money
volunteers had to repair Sgt. Gatz home ran out and they were in need of
another $10,000. WAVE 3 News reported the lack of funds and that night the VFW
called and offered the money needed to fix the home. Since then the budget has
gone up to $125,000 thanks to donations.
