Father accused of tying up mother, demanding money

Justin Wright, 28 Justin Wright, 28

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Accused of tying up and gagging the mother of two of his children and threatening to kill her if she called police, a 28-year-old Louisville man faces several felony charges in an alleged July incident.

Justin Wright is accused of shoving a child's tank top into a woman's mouth while she was sleeping on July 20 and securing it with zip-ties, according to an arrest warrant.

Police say he then hit the woman in the face several times and choked her until her neck popped and she fell unconscious.

When she came to, police say he threatened her with a stun gun and demanded she give him $150.

She had a friend wire the money to him, according to the warrant, and Wright allegedly told the woman he had a large box to stuff her dead body in if she called police.

The warrant indicates deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office visited the home on an unrelated matter on July 22, noticed the woman's injuries and contacted the LMPD domestic violence unit.

Wright is charged with fourth-degree assault involving domestic violence, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, intimidating a participant in the legal process and first-degree wanton endangerment.
