LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Our "Labor Needs" editorial this week stirred up some passionate feedback from viewers.
Lora commented: "When I didn't have a degree I was told it wouldn't be as hard to get a job if I had one. I am a few months from my Masters, and now I hear well you're too qualified and if I hire you, you will leave when something better comes along…so now what?"
Marty wrote: "The best job to have around Labor Day is one of those people that change the price for gas on the signs because they have plenty of work jacking up the price of gas during Labor Day."
And Julie added: "Congress is more concerned with winning to both with such trivial matters as jobs."
We also had a viewer point out that a study with senior executives from some of America's leading corporations found one of every two said their organization has had some jobs not filled as a result of a skills gap and one in four said they had to hire abroad to deal with the problem.
We appreciate all of your feedback and welcome your suggestions for editorial topics and guest editorials.
