LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville woman was arrested Thursday for driving under the influence with a child in the car.

According to the Shively Police Department, around 9:00 p.m., a witness contacted dispatch to report a red Chevy Cavalier slowing down and speeding up, nearly causing an accident with a semi tractor trailer on I-264 west bound from Taylor Blvd.

The car pulled up behind a dry cleaner on Dixie Highway where the driver, Sarah Hardin, left the car on and wasn't parked in a space. When police approached, they found a 4-year-old in the backseat. Hardin, 31, apparently had slurred speech, blood shot eyes and was very lethargic. She also could not produce a driver's license.

Hardin admitted to taking a shot of Kinky liquor earlier in the day and one Xanax bar. While getting out of the car, she braced herself to maintain her balance and was very unsteady.

Hardin is being charged with failure to show a driver's license, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first degree wanton endangerment and reckless driving.
