LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - On Thursday evening, an LMPD officer pulled over Brittany Shewmaker, 27, for speeding.

The radar gun showed Shewmaker going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. On top of speeding, Shewmaker had an expired registration, didn't have insurance and her license was suspended.

According to police, she had blurred speech, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. The breathalyzer test at the scene showed 0.169, which is at an aggravated level.

During the field sobriety test, Shewmaker was unable to maintain heel to toe, maintain her start position and was swaying, using her arms to balance. The field sobriety test was unable to be completed as two children, 4 and 2, were in the Ford Expedition with her.

Shewmaker is being charged with speeding 15 over, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, no registration plates and operating a vehicle on a suspended license.
