LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman is facing charges of putting a child in danger.
Around 4 p.m. August 29, a Good Samaritan flagged down an officer in a parking lot in the 3700 block of Taylorsville Road. The person said the woman had been passed out in the drivers seat of the car for more than 20 minutes with a young child in the back seat.
As the officer approached the car and stopped, which was now in motion and backing out of a parking spot, he found the driver, April Embry, 28, to have slurred speech and heavy eyelids that kept closing.
Embry told the officer she had not been drinking, but was on several prescription medications and had taken the medications before driving.
Embry was charged with wanton endangerment, driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.
