Early morning crash claims life of Georgetown man

GEORGETOWN, IN (WAVE) - Eric R. Paris, who lived in Georgetown, is dead after an early morning crash.

Floyd County Police were called around 5:35 a.m. Saturday about a single vehicle crash in the 8100 block of John Pectol Road.

The preliminary investigation by the Floyd County Accident Reconstruction Team (CART), determined the blue 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Paris was traveling east on John Pectol Road and for unknown reasons left the roadway and struck numerous trees. 

According to police, speed is a contributing factor in the collision and drug and alcohol tests are pending. 

Agencies assisting were, Greenville Township Fire Department, Georgetown Police Dept, New Albany Police Dept, Indiana State Police, Yellow Ambulance, and the Floyd County Coroner's Office.
