TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo man is facing charges after the Lucas County Sheriff's Office says he attempted to smuggle a cell phone into jail inside his body.

The sheriff's office says Marquis Willis, who turned 21 years old on Thursday, concealed a cell phone in his rectum and attempted to smuggle the phone into the Lucas County Jail on Saturday.

It is unclear how Sheriff's Deputies discovered the phone, or why Willis was entering the jail.

Willis has been charged with conveying of prohibited items into a detention facility, a first degree misdemeanor.
